It’s great to hear the good news that you can make alot of money in an online travel business. You absolutely can! And especially with Platinum One Destinations with direct sale profits from membership sales from $750 up to $7,500 per transaction (not to mention eight other income streams, including residuals).
BUT, everyone knows that to make money - you need to advertise - period. People who tell you you can just sit in front of your computer and watch the money come in, are LIEING TO YOU…
If you don’t have fresh leads to talk to or visits to your website, blog, videos, etc., you don’t have a business. And when you advertise, whether it be in a Platinum One Destinations business or any business, you are constantly performing a balancing act between two things - time and money.
So when people ask me how much they should budget to advertise - the first question I ask them is (you’ve probably already guessed)… “How much time do you have?”… And of course the second question is… “How much money can you invest to generate good prospects and leads?”
There are plenty of free ways to advertise your home based business. And when you use free advertising, you will spend more of your own sweat equity and time to use that method.
There are also very affordable online lead generation programs and some that are quite expensive. Generally, the more you are willing to pay for someone else to do the work for you, the more time you will have for yourself. And, sometimes inexpensive lead programs are just as good as expensive ones - depending on how you handle them and follow up with them and the vendor you’re using to generate them for you. That’s why it is important to get with a dedicated sponsor in P1D who can help you choose the right program.

So, what I suggest to anyone considering an advertising budget for their Platinum One Destinations business just getting started is to do three things. Here they are in order…
First - Plan to run at least 100 new leads through your websites and information per month - minimum, with a goal to get at least 10-15 people who agree to go to your website or online or conference call event. Some top earners run 100 new leads per day through their system - they can do that because they have built a nice income and can fund a larger advertising budget, and/or they are full-time in the business and are able to spend more time. BUT EVERYONE HAS TO START AT THE SAME PLACE IN P1D - balancing their time and money - and so do you…
Second - Consider how much time you have to work your business. And think about how you can find and talk to people as part of your regular routine activities (such as mom’s groups, visits to the grocery store, getting your haircut, visits to Starbucks or Barnes & Noble, for instance) where you can make contacts and hand out your business cards and flyers (which should always be readily available in your wallet, purse, and car).
At a minimum, part-time effort, you should plan to spend at least 10-15 hours per week. And of those hours, at least 8-12 of those hours should be spent on revenue-generating activities (meaning handing out biz cards, making dials, following up with prospects via phone or email, etc.)
Then you must look at how much you can accomplish within those 10-15 hours. You will only know this when you get started, and by tracking your numbers. P1D has great tracking documents and tools that are available to everyone, among many training tools, to help you do that.
Once you have an idea of your numbers at the end of one to two weeks, and with continual communication with your sponsor, you will know how much time, and how many people you need to take through the system to make sales and qualify people.
Third - Once you have the information from the second step, you can then determine, based on your advertising budget, and what you can accomplish within the time you have, the right advertising budget for you. I usually recommend people budget at least $200-$500 per month in the beginning, using a lead generation program for maximum time leverage, if they have the resources. If not, that’s o.k. too. It’s just a matter of recognizing that you will need to put in more time to generate the numbers you need to hit on a weekly basis.
